LIPSCOMB ACADEMY CHEERLEADING - VARSITY 

From Competition to sideline, we offer many opportunities to be part of a cheer squad at Lipscomb Academy, With offerings from 5th-12th grades, interested candidates are encouraged to be part of more than one squad and/or play other sports. 

We love to cheer for our sports teams, so we focus on a team concept. Cheerleaders are required to condition in the off-season and encouraged to develop new skills, such as tumbling, to extend the capabilities of our squads. Our highly qualified coaches lead our programs to help our students reach their full potential in all areas. Our cheerleaders attend UCA camp, and each year, we have many individuals who are recognized as UCA All-Americans. We also have many alumni cheerleaders, who have advanced their skills to the point they have been able to cheer at the collegiate level. Our current competition squad competes in UCA regionals & have qualified for Nationals the last 4 years. 

All coaches are USA CHEER certified for safety and credentialed by UCA (Universal Cheerleader Association).

 

Whitney Cadavid: Director of Cheerleading Operations & Competition Head Coach

 Whitney is a Lipscomb University Alumnus & a seasoned business leader & passionate cheer coach with over a decade of experience in the fields of business management, coaching, and marketing. Cheering through high school & college at Lipscomb while also competing with a local all-star cheer gym & coaching 5/6 grade cheer at Goodpasture Christian School, she later brought her leadership skills and passion for cheer to Cheermoore Athletics. There she served as gym manager and competition coach for several high school teams and Belmont University. Whitney has been coaching cheer at the academy since 2020 and in 2022, she was hired on to coach the University cheer team.

Anna Claire Temple: Varsity Sideline Coach

Anna Claire is a graduate of both Lipscomb Academy and Lipscomb University (Bachelor of Science in elementary education). She began cheering in fourth grade and continued throughout college. She has coached cheer and competitive programs at Ensworth, Brentwood Academy and Centennial High School in Franklin. While coaching at Centennial, the Junior Varsity squad received fifth at nationals, and the Varsity squad received second.

Ann Michael Graves: Competition Assistant Coach

Ann Michael is a Lipscomb Academy & Lipscomb University graduate with her love for cheer starting at a young age. Ann Michael cheered all through her time at the academy as well as at the university along with coaching both at the academy & the university alongside Whitney Cadavid. Ann Michael brings years of choreography, sideline & competition experience to the coaching staff at LA. She is most excited about working on a GAME DAY approach to the competition team this season.
