LIPSCOMB ACADEMY CHEERLEADING - MS

We offer many opportunities to be part of a cheer squad at Lipscomb Academy. With offerings from 5th-12th grades, interested candidates are encouraged to be part of more than one squad and/or play other sports. 

We love to cheer for our sports teams, so we focus on a team concept. Cheerleaders are required to condition in the off-season and encouraged to develop new skills, such as tumbling, to extend the capabilities of our squads. Our highly qualified coaches lead our programs to help our students reach their full potential in all areas. Our cheerleaders attend UCA camp, and each year, we have many individuals who are recognized as UCA All-Americans. We also have many alumni cheerleaders, who have advanced their skills to the point they have been able to cheer at the collegiate level.  Our current competition squad competes in UCA regionals and have qualified for the last 5 years. 

All coaches are USA CHEER certified for safety.

COACHING STAFF

Whitney Cadavid: Director of Cheerleading & Competition

  Whitney is a Lipscomb University Alumnus, a seasoned business leader & passionate cheer coach with over a decade of experience in the fields of business management, coaching, and marketing. Cheering through high school at Goodpasture Christian School & college at Lipscomb University while also competing with a local all-star cheer gym is where her love for cheer was cultivated. She began coaching 5/6 grade cheer at Goodpasture during her college years & later brought her leadership skills and passion for cheer to Cheermoore Athletics. There she served as the gym manager and competition coach for several high school teams as well as Belmont University. Whitney has been coaching cheer at the academy since 2020 and in 2022, she was hired on to coach the University cheer team. She is now the director between the two programs. Her husband, Branden Cadavid, is the assistant baseball coach at LA & their 3 children attend the lower school.
